The primary aim of the Sustainable agribusiness program is to provide students with adequate knowledge of agribusiness enabling them becoming responsible factors in planning new policies in this area. The interdisciplinary program provides students with broad knowledge in the field of agribusiness and shows its impact on the global society. This program is focused on the company behavior, skills and activities in agribusiness. The program is oriented towards the practical application of the tools, techniques and concepts used in this field.
The Sustainable agribusiness program has the following main objectives:
- Development of entrepreneurship in agribusiness through the use of local human and real estate resources.
- Developing awareness about the environment and creating sustainable agricultural development.
- Training of professional staff in the field of agribusiness.
- Reduction of unemployment by promoting agricultural activities.
- Developing small and medium sized businesses in agriculture which can compete successfully in the EU and can adopt the relevant regulations on consumer protection.
This program offers students the knowledge from all relevant fields related to agribusiness. Graduate students acquire basic knowledge about the economic, political, social and technological, which are able to change their lifestyle and work. They are capable of being successful in democratic free market economies, being involved in international labor markets, able to manage public and private companies to improve management of agribusiness in the country, professionally skilled and competent to take part in integration processes of the country in the European Union.

The students will start thinking critically about topics related to their ethnicity, gender identity, class, religion, national origin, age and other demographic characteristics and their impact on the communication process. Basic Skills English Level 1 is a one-semester course meeting 6 class hours per week. The full length of the course is 14 weeks. By the end of this course students are expected to be at level of A2 CEF (Common European Framework) and should be able to understand and use familiar expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type; introduce themselves and others and ask and answer questions about personal details, describe their daily routines; talk about their family; describe a person/place/room; give directions and interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. By the end of this course students are expected to be at level of B1 CEF (Common European Framework) and are expected to be able to talk about past experiences, discuss the weather, go shopping in English, discuss future arrangements, use comparatives and superlatives to describe people or things and write a descriptive paragraph.

Basic Skills English Level 3 is a one-semester course meeting 4 class hours each week. The full length of the course is 14 weeks. By the end of this course students should be at level of B2 CEF (Common European Framework). Students will understand and manage simple routine exchanges without undue effort, make themselves understood and exchange ideas and information on familiar topics in predictable everyday situations (provided the other person helps if necessary). Students will be able to deal with everyday situations with predictable content (though they will generally have to compromise the message and search for words). Upon completion of this level, students should be significantly more able to sustain monologues. Students will read and comprehend simple texts and respond critically to them. In terms of writing, students will be able to write logically organized and connected narratives.

They should also be able to understand texts that consist mainly of high frequency everyday language. Students should be able to understand texts which describe events, articles and reports concerned with temporary problems in which the writers adopt particular attitudes or viewpoints. Students should also be able to initiate and maintain conversation on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. The focus of the course is on two skills often neglected in general English programs: reading and writing. After finishing the course Albanian Language for Professional Purposes the students will be able practically use the knowledge which will serve them throughout their employment as well as in their future carrier. Students will be expected to know the differences in spoken and written language, the characteristics of professional communication (report, CV, email), the specifics of professional writing, the most common grammatical forms, to recognize the differences amongst the scientific, administrative and the socio political styles of writing. The students should be able to know the rules of how to organize interviews and debates, to know how to properly write cover letters and to interpret particular texts in a written and spoken form.

In this course students’ academic writing skills will be enhanced in a variety of ways. Students will be enabled to communicate their ideas in a clear, fluent and effective way in order to produce a piece of writing. Students’ academic writing skills will be developed through activities that promote writing like: writing different types of paragraphs and essays. Also, students will be introduced to paraphrasing and citing rules as well as will be made aware of what plagiarism is. Giving feedback on students’ pieces of writing will involve self-correction, peer-correction and teacher-correction of content, organization and language errors.
