SEEU will expand the green belt on the Tetovo Campus

The Rector of the South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, today (30th April 2021), received in a meeting the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Arjanit Hoxha and his associates.

The purpose of the meeting was to explore the possibilities of mutual cooperation and achieve a partnership in the development and expansion of forest belt and green spaces in the SEE University campus for the benefit of the wider community.

Rector Bexheti, spoke about the measures taken by the University in terms of environmental protection, achieving the goal of zero carbon dioxide emissions and other environmental activities, which are not only for the benefit of students but for the wider community as well.

“We develop the idea of a green campus with optimal steps, while maintaining the position of leader for these environmental aspects, where the benefit is comprehensive, initially for community health and our contribution to strategic mission -- zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions”, said rector Bexheti.

Minister Hoxha stressed the importance of the cooperation of the Ministry he leads with educational institutions, in particular with the South East European University.

Rector Bexheti and Minister Hoxha, who is also a SEEU Alumni, symbolically planted a young plant, which marks the beginning of the first phase of the project.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Hoxha accepted the request and the elaboration of the conceptual project, which envisages the arrangement of a cycling and walking path along the entire border of the SEEU Campus.

The SEEU campus covers an area of 200,000 square meters, of which 95,000 square meters are green areas that are continuously maintained.
