bringing knowledge to life!

Graduation Ceremony of the 19th generation of SEEU graduates was held

With a solemn Ceremony, in the presence of parents, family, staff and other guests, on Saturday (June 17, 2023), at the South East European University, the 19th generation of graduates was promoted.

The ceremony was declared open by the President of South East European University Board, Prof. Dr. Klaus Tochterman, who described this day as a very important milestone in everyone's life.

“Please share the knowledge you acquired at SEEU with others. If you do this, you will be fulfilling a great wish of the SEEU: you will use what you have learned not only for your own benefit, but also for the benefit of others. For those who are not as fortunate as you”, said, among other things, in the opening speech, the chairman Tochtermann.

“This place, where I am today, made us feel like a part of Europe 20 years ago, with the conditions, standards and study opportunities that this University has. I know that many new achievements await you personally and professionally because you are an ambitious generation, which will bring great benefits to the country and general prosperity to the society. Justify the degree you received in one of the most popular and contemporary universities in our country”, said, among other things, in his speech, Minister of Education and Science, Dr. Jeton Shaqiri.

In his traditional message, the Rector of South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, said to the students that in their life, they will have many moments full of emotion, positive energy, enthusiasm, and passion, but this day will leave distinctive marks in your memory, forever.

“You are the 19th generation, which numerically amounts to a total of 27,000 students registered cumulatively, in all three study cycles, including those who currently have student status; and about 16,000 graduated students (13,000 in undergraduate studies; 2,600 in master's studies; and 270 in doctoral studies). Hundreds of professors and lecturers from the country and the region, as well as internationals, have taught or do teach here. We are organized in six faculties, three centres and three institutes, with a total of 80 study programs, in three cycles, supported by full administrative and logistical staffs, and all have given, and continue to contribute, to this community which celebrates you today“, noted Rector Bexheti.

“Today is not like yesterday and tomorrow will not be like today. This is true in terms of the changes taking place in societies throughout our planet. Just as social movements today and tomorrow are no longer within a circle or a square, nor within a certain geographical area, professions will no longer be eternal. The exponential changes that are taking place will take you to a certain corner of the planet, just as tomorrow you will be required to solve problems that do not fit within traditional curricular frameworks. Therefore, the concepts of critical thinking and problem solving have been, and will remain, the basic postulates on which the teaching and learning system at SEEU is built. At least we know what we want. The market will show tomorrow how far we have succeeded!”, said Rector Bexheti.

Student Miraxh Lika, from the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies, gave a speech on behalf of the students of the generation, who thanked parents and professors for their contribution to their achievements.

For the artistic part of the Ceremony were engaged the well-known rock band from Tetova "Elita 5" and Prof. Agim Poshka, who sang the University song "Voice of Knowledge”.
