Project Networking & Internationalization Week began at SEEU

‘Building resilient and well-informed society’ was the topic of the promotional event, which was held today (April 24, 2023) at South East European University, with which Project Networking & Internationalization Week began at SEEU organized by the Max van der Stoel Institute and which will last until on Friday (April 28, 2023).

In his opening speech, the Rector of the South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti emphasized the importance of networking, which has many benefits and is beneficial to students and academic staff in terms of exchanging experience and expertise.

"Currently, there are 25 scientific projects carried out by MVDSI, where a significant number of academic and administrative staff are involved. Within this framework, very positive results have also been achieved in the Erasmus plus Program, where only last year 45 students have used the right of mobility in well-known European universities" said the Rector of the South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti.

The project networking and internationalization week is being organized for the first time, said the director of the Max van der Stoel Institute--Veli Kreci and that this event will become a tradition.

"This week represents a platform for disseminating the results of current and past projects to the general public, and will help strengthen and expand the university's network of partnerships." - Director Kreci added further.

The promotional event of the Fakespotting project aims to develop innovative digital education tools to combat disinformation.

"These tools will be implemented in the fields of higher education and adult education. The project also addresses the mismatch between the labor market and digital skills, training students and adults with few skills," said the project coordinator for SEEU--Albulena Halili.

The final goal is to support democratic participation and improve the information, media and digital education of the citizens of the European Union in the fight against the phenomenon of disinformation. In this consortium led by the University of Bologna, SEEU is the representative of North Macedonia, as a candidate state for EU membership.

The "Max van der Stoel" Institute is part of more than twenty international projects, from twenty-eight countries and in cooperation with more than fifty European and world universities, as well as with over twenty-five non-governmental organizations and start-ups.

During this week, MVDSI will welcome participants to events related to three different international projects co-financed by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union: ‘Fakespotting’, ‘UnInLeco’ and "MUST". At the same time, SEEU will host the Erasmus Training Week, which will offer valuable training opportunities for those interested in internationalization and mobility.
