The award ceremony of Macedonia’s National Essay Contest that is organized second year in a row in partnership among SEEU Language Center, the National Association of English Teachers (ELTAM) and Peace Corps was held on Monday, March 24 at the US Embassy in Skopje. Besa Bytyqi, the LC representative, presented the gifts to the winners. This year, 460 students in three categories from private and state schools in Macedonia wrote essays on the topic: “Why is it important to study a second language?” The US Ambassador, his Excellency, Mr. Paul Wohlers, who was hosting this ceremony, expressed his satisfaction with the contest and his gratitude to South East European University for their support and work in promoting the English language teaching in the country and supporting events of this kind.
