Debate on employment challenges and youth employment

"Challenges, opportunities and measures to increase employment and youth employment", was the topic of discussion in the form of town-hall meetings, held on Thursday (3 June 2021), at SEEU, organized by the Center for Education and Development (CED) within the project "Support to Electoral Reforms" of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) in partnership with the National Youth Council of Macedonia (NYCM).

Rector of South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, spoke on the topic "Education against market challenges and opportunities", where he stressed the asymmetry of the labor market in North Macedonia, the efforts made by the University to contribute to providing the profiles required by the labor market and creating opportunities for employment of students and young people in general.

Dean of the Faculty of Contemporary Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Memet Memeti, spoke on the topic: “Cooperation between the Academy and potential employers as a necessity to increase youth employment”.

The event was opened by Metin Muaremi, President of the Center for Development and Education, who thanked SEEU for its cooperation and contribution and presented the purpose of the meeting.

The discussion was also attended by the Special Adviser for Labor and Social Policy to the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Mr. Milan Zivkovic; the Coordinator for Higher Education, the National Agency for Mobility and Educational Programs Mr. Astrit Rexhepi; and Mrs. Qanije Selimi - owner and manager of REA Center, Tetovo.
