President Pendarovski previously had a meeting with the Rector of SEEU, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, who was accompanied by the Pro-rector for Research and International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Besa Arifi. During the meeting, Rector Bexheti and President Pendarovski talked about the current events in higher education and the role of the University as a contributor with social responsibility in the country.
Rector Bexheti, in front of the students, thanked President Pendarovski for the open approach to the University and the students and for the opportunity given for the students directly to listen to the specific lecture and information about current affairs and main political processes in the country.
"The president represents the highest institution in the country, and based on this, it is very important that this institution be accessible and open to the public, and communicate with citizens” emphasized Rector Bexheti.
During the lecture with students, President Pendarvski emphasized that this is the second time he visits SEEU and that he and Rector Bexheti have participated in important political processes in the country. Rector Bexheti always had an argumentative and quite persuasive stand in defending these positions.
"In the first ten years of Macedonia's independence, an exclusive government system was created, where the concept of the state was based on a constitutive nation and others. Therefore, the Ohrid Framework Agreement was reached, which ensured social cohesion "President Pendarovski said at the beginning of the lecture.
Speaking about the latest developments and challenges that North Macedonia is facing, President Pendarovski said that two are the most challenging issues we face, corruption and the mass drain of youth.
At the end of the lecture, students asked the President many questions, mainly about current topics that concern young people and the future perspective of the country.
After the lecture, President Pendarovski and Rector Bexheti together visited the Simulation Center of the Faculty of Health Sciences, where he was informed about the work being done in the newest Faculty of SEEU.
