The Cross-Border Project "Green Schools Initiative" was Promoted at SEEU

Today, at the South East European University (SEEU), the launching ceremony of the project “Green Schools Initiative (GSI) – Enhancing Energy Efficiency, Renewable Heating, and Sustainability in Education” was held. This project is funded by the European Union under the IPA III Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Kosovo – North Macedonia.

The project will be implemented over the next 18 months by SEEU as the lead partner, in cooperation with the Municipality of Brvenica, the Institute for Development Policy (INDEP), and the Education Empowerment Initiative (EEI) from Kosovo. During the event, participants were introduced to the objectives and action plan of the project, while partnership agreements and management structure documents were also signed.

In his welcoming speech, the Rector of SEEU, Prof. Dr. Sadudin Ibraimi, emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and investments in energy efficiency and environmental education as key elements for sustainable development.

Through this project, schools will be supported with modern solutions for efficient heating and energy-saving measures, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions, increasing environmental awareness, and promoting the green transition in local communities.

The "Green Schools Initiative" project represents an important step towards creating more sustainable educational institutions and strengthening cross-border cooperation in line with European climate and sustainable development goals.
