  Realization of the practical part of the teaching with adequate participation of the students in all parts of the practical teaching in modern classrooms, with modern visual aids, appropriate laboratories in the university and in the health institutions / clinics with which SEEU has concluded cooperation agreements.

  During the study of the course, students will acquire basic knowledge and insights about the individual health, its physical, spiritual and social essence, public and individual health, understanding of health as a unity of spiritual, physical and genetic component, and will be introduced to the terms: culture of personality, comprehensively developed personality, physical culture of the person; holistic approach to health as a mechanism of improving health of each individual and society as a whole. They will gain basic knowledge about the earliest development of the personality and body of a child and an adult, as well as basic knowledge of developmental theories.
• [C2342] [6 ECTS] Basics of Physiotherapy, Biomechanics and Kinesiology with Pathokinesiology
  In the field of Physiotherapy, students should gain basic knowledge about the artificial sources of physical agents, their use in physical therapy, method of obtaining, biological and physiological action of physical agents, their dosage, as well as indications and contraindications for their use. They will get acquainted with the ways of application of physical agents, as well as with the dangers and possible mistakes at work. Students will gain insights into the role of physical therapy in the process of rehabilitating the injured and sick. In the field of kinesiology with pathokinesiology, students will gain basic knowledge about exercise that aims to improve health, optimal development of human characteristics, abilities and motor skills and their maintenance, prevention of premature decline of certain anthropological characteristics and motor knowledge through 4 different areas: Kinesiological recreation; Kinesitherapy; Kinesiology education; Sport. They will acquire basic knowledge of Kinesiological Psychology. In the part of Pathokinesiology, the basic knowledge of the most frequent deviations from the normal bodily functioning of the human body is to be acquired.

  Aims of the course: Introduction to anatomy as a morphological science, getting acquainted of professional terminology, complete study of the locomotor system of the extremities. Introduction to the anatomy of the chest, abdomen and pelvis, as well as the synoptic, skeletal and holotopy ratios of the organs in these body cavities.

    Academic English is a one semester course which aims to enable the students with skills which can facilitate their language learning and their study progress in an academic teaching and learning environment. The course should enable them to use those skills in both foreign language classroom as well as academic progress in content areas. The course incorporates language skills, study skills and generally applicable skills (listening, delivering oral presentations, constructing arguments) in specific assignments. Therefore, upon successful completion of the course ,the students’ proficiency level should be at C1 according to Common European Framework. As a result, the students should be able to deliver successfully oral presentation, participate in an online debate/ discussion forum stating their opinion and arguments and give feedback to others in a constructive manner. In addition, the students should be able to listen and read for gist and detail and write an argumentative paragraph and essay stating their opinion. They should and write a problem solution paragraph and essay.They should be able to present visual information in a form of Power Point poster presentations. The students should be able to identify main ideas and supporting evidence in a text and to analyse and identify topic sentences in a paragraph. They should be able to identify a purpose of a text, patterns of organization in a text and apply them in their own writing.

    Aims of the course: Through this course, students will develop and improve their understanding and use of medical terminology in the context of health and health care. The development of all four language skills will be facilitated through case studies, dialogues and discussions related to body systems, medications and therapy, recovery and care, as well as medical administration in English. At the same time, the course will focus on the development of students' communication skills in order to ensure accurate and clear communication in English, taking into account the necessary tact and sensitivity in the medical field.

    The aim of this course is the students to acquire language skills in particularly important work situations in the field of medicine, especially oral communication and documentation as well as to understand and use general medical and pharmaceutical terminology. With this students are guided through the most important situations in the workplace in health care institutions, for example admission conversation and medical history, speech situations related to surgery, visits and discharge from the hospital as well as documentation and transfer of measured values from analyzes and so on. Due to their high relevance, students are also trained in the use of computers in the workplace in health care institutions (hospitals, clinics, etc.), telephony, and administration in German. In addition, through this course the students will gain practical language tips for possible misunderstandings and provide them with useful communication strategies.

    Albanian Language course for beginners 1 is prepared with the purpose to enable the students, who do not have basic knowledge of the Albanian language, to get to know the characteristics of this language, to gain knowledge of the linguistic structure of the Albanian language, and to extend and apply their knowledge in everyday situations. Correspondingly, they will gain knowledge of the structure of the Albanian language; They will also acquire a modest set of various lexical and grammatical categories which will enable them cary out simple conversations.

    The curriculum for Macedonian Language intermediate level 1 includes: reading, writing, listening and speaking through which the students: will enrich the vocabulary through appropriate texts for daily activities (in a bank, in a library, in a ministry, etc.) and will improve the skills for professional writing and speaking that are necessary for clear and effective communication in their further professional career. A special, continuous emphasis on the overall activity is placed on the linguistic elements, that is, on the spelling and grammar of the Macedonian standard language. Experts as one of the key elements for good written expression state the correct use of language.
  • [MLIL-02] Macedonian Language Intermediate Level 2
    The curriculum for Macedonian Language intermediate level 2 includes: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Special emphasis is placed on the development of students' communication skills, or the use of language in daily activities and professional context, enriching the vocabulary and acquiring knowledge about the structure and types of professional texts. Different communication styles will be covered, with the goal being for students to establish good communication with the audience through their texts and to attract and retain their attention.

    Upon completion of the course Macedonian for Professional Purposes 1, students are expected to broaden and strengthen their abilities for more advanced written and oral expression in Macedonian in the context of the different professional settings. Students are expected to be able to read, write and comprehend various professional texts in Macedonian. They are also expected to acquire knowledge and skills about the general terminology from the field of law, business and economy, administration, computer sciences, language and communication and to be able to use that terminology in the framework of their future professions. Besides accomplishing these professional aims, students are expected to become more autonomous language learners and be able to think critically about different topics in a multilingual and multicultural environment.  
  • [MAPP1020] Macedonian Language for Professional Purposes 2
    Upon completion of the course, Macedonian for professional purposes 2, students are expected to reconfirm and expand further their abilities for advanced written and oral expression in Macedonian, in the context of their future professions. They should be able to read, write and comprehend different kinds of professional texts in Macedonian, to analyse and discuss those texts, as well as to create their own documents, including professional biography in Macedonian (CV). They should also expand the knowledge of specific terminology from the field of law, business and economy, administration, computer sciences, language and communication and be able to use that terminology in simulation of authentic situations from the professional environment, in debates and exchange of opinion regarding different aspects of these professions.  

Semester 2

  Students should acquire the basic principles of the application of kinesiotherapy in therapy and prophylaxis in medical rehabilitation, acquire knowledge about the positive effect of kinesiotherapy on the mental and social condition of the patient, get acquainted with the methods of kinesiotherapy and the means of kinesiotherapy. They should be able to test the functions of kinesiotherapy, gain knowledge of the indications and contraindications in kinesiotherapy as well as insight into the effectiveness of kinesiotherapy in reciprocity with other physical agents and approaches.
• [C2265] [5 ECTS] Theory and History of Occupational Therapy and Involvement in Daily Activities
  Students should gain basic knowledge of the historical development of the idea of occupational therapy as well as the practical application of various approaches and methods in different historical periods of human history. From the period of Antiquity, through the Enlightenment and the advanced ideas of that period, to the modern time and way of approaching occupational therapy as well as its implementation in everyday life and education as well as studies on the science of occupational therapy.

  Students should gain basic knowledge in the field of capacity building, skills, competencies and support for vocational rehabilitation and social inclusion of people with the most common injuries and disabilities. They will be introduced with the rules for vocational rehabilitation and personal assistance services, provisions of vocational rehabilitation services, assistance to employees in retaining a job position or gaining employment. Knowledge of recommendations for employers, Individual assessments of functional capacity, compliance with the person and the environment-supportive work environment, interventions in vocational rehabilitation in the development of self-confidence; communication and interpersonal skills; anger control; and stress management through techniques of Occupational Psychology, Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Occupational Physicians and Vocational Rehabilitation.

    The aims of the course are: • Raising students' awareness of communication and increasing communication skills; • Students to get acquainted with the basic aspects and principles of verbal and non-verbal communication; • Students to get acquainted with the elements of effective communication; • Introduction to the levels of communication (management and teamwork, analysis of the types of leadership, interpersonal communication, professional communication); • Recognition of non-verbal forms of communication; • Introduction to the psychological aspects of communication.

    Students to acquire basic theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of neurodevelopmental biology of healthy as well as altered (pathological) development of infants and children. Proper physiological early neurodevelopment of children, diagnosis and intervention in neurodevelopmental disorders from the earliest developmental age, identification, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of children with disorders. Education and support of parents / families of children with neurodevelopmental disorders. Prevention and protection of children and mothers / parents from risk factors for changes / disorders in the neurodevelopment of infants and children. Rehabilitation and re-education of children with deviations in the early psychomotor period of development, inclusion in the daily functioning and life of the peers.

    Students should gain basic knowledge of the various approaches used in manual techniques of physiotherapy treatment and fitness exercises, such as: Myofascial therapy, massage, rubbing massage, soft tissue technique, trigger point, and various other techniques for specific approaches to physical therapy such as: stretching, gluing-taping, acupressure, bone placement, chiropractic, massage therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, Medical acupuncture, myofascial release (MFR), myotherapy and the like. They will be introduced to the concept of Fitness exercises such as exercise and nutrition, enabling a better life, the energy of mitochondrial cells as a center of athletic performance, physical fitness, disease prevention and aging.

    Students are introduced to all areas and disciplines in which sports medicine is practiced and gain basic knowledge of the same, in order to learn about the most common sports injuries such as knee and shoulder, fractures, ankle sprains, concussions, cartilage injuries, etc. They will be introduced with tips from other areas of health, such as diet, exercise, supplements, injury prevention.

    Students are introduced to the term complementary and alternative medicine as a diverse range of manipulative therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractic and osteopathy therapies, including various forms of herbal medicine, dietary supplements, homeopathic remedies, etc., care for patients with acute and other clinical conditions and their usage. Introduction to the Cupping technique as an ancient healing therapy for pain relief, applications on the back, abdomen, arms, legs and other parts of the body. Use of suction cups (dry suction cups, fire suction cups and wet suction cups) for a wide range of medical conditions.

    Aims of the course are students: • To gain information and education in the field of informatics and health statistics; • To gain knowledge of how computer technology is used for clinical documentation, communication, e-health and project management in the field.

  Aims of the course: Students to get acquainted with the general surgical principles and to master the general surgical principles of the abdomen and thorax. Students will be introduced with the basics of orthopedics and traumatology for nurses / general practitioners.

  Aims of the course: Students will acquire basic theoretical and practical knowledge and knowledge about the basic internal conditions and diseases in order to understand better the basic principles of health care for patients with internal diseases. Students will acquire skills for practical application of the learned theoretical knowledge for health care appropriate to the specific internal diseases and the specifics of the level of health care.
• [C2268] [6 ECTS] Health Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy
  Aims of the course: Through theoretical teaching units, students will be educated on what is rehabilitation medicine, what are its goals, where it is applied and what are the latest recommendations that are practiced in patients with different pathology. In order to define better the material, a brief repetition of the theoretical part in the field of pathogenesis, clinical picture and therapy of the most common diseases and conditions that require rehabilitation is needed. Special attention is paid to defining the role of the nurse in the rehabilitation process. During the internship, students should acquire: skills for proper approach to patients and their triage. Through practical examples they will be involved in the planning and development of individualized rehabilitation plans for patients with different pathologies. Prospective nurse technicians will gain knowledge to support patients during the rehabilitation process.

Due to their high relevance, students are also trained in the use of computers in the workplace in health care institutions (hospitals, clinics, etc.), telephony, and administration in German. The second part they will study the different techniques, methods and approaches in balneotherapy, dosing in hydrotherapy and the basic principles for combining water with other physical factors and the rules for compiling a physiotherapy program depending on the diagnosis and the general condition of the patient. Students will be provided with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of medical psychology, knowledge about the impact of psychological factors on health and illness, as well as the impact of illness and somatic difficulties on the development of psychological problems, competencies to support patients, attitude towards health, participation in organization of preventive health programs, maintenance and promotion of mental health, patient approach, application of communication skills to establish contact with the patient.
