The XVI meeting of the Alb-Shkenca Institute was held

This year's meeting key topic is 'The era of digitalization and its effect on sustainable development' and due to the conditions of Pandemic Covid-19 is held in hybrid format.

Welcoming speech at the opening of this event was given by the Rector of the South East European University Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, who emphasized the role of universities in the development of science in general and science in particular among Albanian universities.

In the plenary sessions the SEEU Pro-Rector for Academic Planning and Digitalization--Prof. Dr. Adrian Besimi, presented the paper ‘Development of education in general: online learning and digitalization’ and the SEEU teaching and learning experience during pandemics. He said that there have been many challenges, but that the University has managed to adapt very quickly due to the previous experience in online teaching.

The conference is held in plenary sessions, while in the thematic panels were addressed the following topics: Development of education in general: online learning and digitalization; Digitalization in higher education and research: Identification of good experiences and future developments; Online public services: infrastructure and privacy protection.

The meeting was attended by well-known Albanian scientists from the country and the diaspora.

The Institute is an initiative of scientists and researchers from the Albanian Scientific Diaspora spread all over the world.
