The Minister previously had a meeting with the Rector of the University, academician Alajdin Abazi, with whom he spoke about reciprocal cooperation. Rector Abazi said that the aim of SEEU is regional cooperation and for this issue there are a lot of fields of reciprocal interest. Minister Mladenov spoke about Balkan countries perspectives in the Euro-Atlantic integrations in his lecture.
“This is my second visit to Tetovo and several years have passed since my first visit. I was in this town in 1994-1995 for the first time and at that time the town was full of different tensions. Now I see that many things have changed for the better,” said the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Nickolay Mladenov.
Previous to his lecture, Minister Mladenov opened the artistic exhibition, “Traditions” in the main corridor of the Faculty of Business Administration. "Traditions" is a unique ethnographic collection of photos of Alexand?r Mihailov, presenting some of the most colorful rituals from Bulgarian culture. The photos capture ceremonies, originating in the mountains and the Black Sea coast of the country, which are performed by Bulgarians from different origins: Christians, Muslims, Turks and Roma.

“The South East European University presents the symbol how the Balkans should look like in future,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Mr. Nickolay Mladenov on 6th May 2010, at the lecture delivered to SEEU students.
